Scattered and Sent
Acts 8:1-8, 14, 25
8 1 And Saul approved of their killing him. That day a severe persecution began against the church in Jerusalem, and all except the apostles were scattered throughout the countryside of Judea and Samaria. 2 Devout men buried Stephen and made loud lamentation over him. 3 But Saul was ravaging the church by entering house after house; dragging off both men and women, he committed them to prison. 4 Now those who were scattered went from place to place, proclaiming the word. 5 Philip went down to the city of Samaria and proclaimed the Messiah to them. 6 The crowds with one accord listened eagerly to what was said by Philip, hearing and seeing the signs that he did, 7 for unclean spirits, crying with loud shrieks, came out of many who were possessed; and many others who were paralyzed or lame were cured. 8 So there was great joy in that city.
14 Now when the apostles at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had accepted the word of God, they sent Peter and John to them.
25 Now after Peter and John had testified and spoken the word of the Lord, they returned to Jerusalem, proclaiming the good news to many villages of the Samaritans.

Staying Connected
Camp Update
The Camp Team has made the difficult decision to cancel Camp 2021. With registration at 80% less than prior years, and an age spread making age-appropriate curriculum difficult we feel this is the best choice. We remain committed to providing quality programming for the kids and youth of Tapestry Church. We must be good stewards of our time, talents, and treasures. Each family has a unique need and comfortability with engagement due to COVID. Recently published Day and Overnight Camp regulations from the CDC also played a role in our decision. We want to keep participants safe and follow the recommendations of health professionals.
What does this mean for the summer? Weekly summer activities for families are being secured and will be published soon. We think it’s important to keep the energy and heart of Camp alive. Thus, we have arranged a bonfire and hot dog/s’more roast at Jameson Camp on Sunday, June 6th. Look for registration info soon. What does this mean for the Tapestry Youth Camp program? Tapestry Youth Camp as we have known it, is a thing of the past as a direct result of needs, interest, and facility availability changes over the years. Shannon is discerning what a future summer offering will be that fosters community building for kids, youth, and adults.
We know this may be difficult news for you and your families. A follow-up email will be sent to those who registered. Please reach out to Shannon if you have questions or concerns.
Tapestry Member Spotlight - Karen Dickerson
During both services, this coming Sunday Karen will be giving a Design Team update.
Karen has been a member of Tapestry for nearly 34 years years. When asked what she loves most about Tapestry her response was; "The caring members who become your family."
Youth and Kids

Tapestry Swag Sale Fundraiser benefiting the Kids' and Youth Ministries. Order online HERE with our easy form, payment can be made online through Realm (contact Shannon if you need help).
Summer Kids' Lesson (pre-school through 5th grade) starts back in June! Kids will meet during the sermon each week with a Tapestry volunteer who will provide a lesson from "Building Faith Brick by Brick". No registration is required.

Travel-sized shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, toothbrush, toothbrush cases, toothpaste, lotion, and bars of soap.
Adult Bible Study
Re-Entry after our Pandemic Experiences, an opportunity to talk about re-entry after a year of the pandemic. Join us Thursdays in May from 7 - 8 pm on Zoom
Johnson County Habitat for Humanity
The team from Tapestry Church has been assigned to perform interior painting on Saturday, May 15. We still have 2-3 spots to fill on our team. If you are 18 yrs or older and interested in participating, please contact Cort Davisson as soon as possible (cddavisson@yahoo.com or 317-476-6060).
The Peoples Book Club
The Peoples Book Club will meet via Zoom on Tuesday, May 18th from 6:30 to 8 pm. They will be discussing The Book of Longings by Sue Monk Kidd. Click here for more information.

Jump into June and Join FTF!
We've missed seeing each other. We are again getting together OUTDOORS on Tuesday, June 1 from 11:30-1:00 p.m. We have reserved the same shelter house at: NORTHWEST PARK ANNEX SHELTER HOUSE (closest park to 135) 1600 Fry Road, Greenwood. There are 12 tables at which we may sit or you may bring your own lawn chair. Please bring your own sack lunch and drink. We will eat, fellowship, play Bingo, and have fun. If it is raining at 10:30 a.m. we will not meet.
