Join us this Sunday as we begin our new series, Chasing Francis.
St Francis of Assisi is one of the most famous figures in Christian history. He was a passionate leader who helped lead lasting reforms within the Church and helped many to rediscover God in a new way. Join us this month as we explore the life and teachings of St Francis, hoping to implement some of his values into our lives today. This series is based loosely on the novel by the same title, by Ian Morgan Cron.
John 3:1-9
Now there was a Pharisee named Nicodemus, a leader of the Jews. 2 He came to Jesus by night and said to him, “Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher who has come from God; for no one can do these signs that you do apart from the presence of God.” 3 Jesus answered him, “Very truly, I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God without being born from above.” 4 Nicodemus said to him, “How can anyone be born after having grown old? Can one enter a second time into the mother’s womb and be born?” 5 Jesus answered, “Very truly, I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God without being born of water and Spirit. 6 What is born of the flesh is flesh, and what is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7 Do not be astonished that I said to you, ‘You must be born from above.’ 8 The wind blows where it chooses, and you hear the sound of it, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit.” 9 Nicodemus
said to him, “How can these things be?”

Calling All Youth
All Tapestry Youth and their parents are invited to our Fall Youth Kick-Off at Zip City! This will give everyone a chance to meet our new Director of Youth Ministries, Ryan Meek. We’ll also outline some steps forward, provide a fall calendar, and have some fun together.
What: Fall Youth Kick-Off
Where: Zip City, located at 6650 Bluff Rd, Indianapolis.
When: Sunday, September 12, 4-6 pm
Who: All youth (middle and high school) and parents

WEAVE
Are you a new member or new participant ready to add your thread to the fabric of Tapestry Church?
If so, we hope you’ll join us on Thursday, September 9th, at 6:00 pm for WEAVE.
WEAVE is a gathering where we’ll talk about where we’ve been, where we are going, and why you already belong. You’ll get a little history, a good meal, and an invitation to get further connected.
WEAVE will meet in person and dinner will be provided. You can also join us via Zoom (but you’ll have to make your own dinner!). Childcare is available upon request.

REMINDER!
At both of our weekly worship services, we have multiple options for our children. We have a pray-ground area for kids near the musicians, where kids can play safely with provided resources. We also offer a Sunday School during the sermon with an alternative lesson and activities. If you are in need of a nursery (for ages 0-2), one can be provided with advanced notice. During the months of August and September, Tapestry will be collecting donations for Westwood Elementary Weekend Bags. There is a great need for juice boxes as well as the following:
- Mac n cheese bowls or Chef Boyardee bowls (No cans please)
- Granola bars
- Fruit cups
Changing Footprints
You're invited to our September 7th First Tuesday Fellowship to see how YOU can change footprints! Scott Splichal will share information about "Changing Footprints", an organization that is 'changing the world two feet at time'.
We will be meeting at FRIEDENS UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST (8300 S Meridian Street, Indy) on Tuesday, Sept 7th. The meeting begins at 11:30, lunch is provided at 11:50, and the program begins at 12:30.
We will begin collecting $8.00 at each meeting. You may help by bringing any shoes of any sizes to donate! Please call, text, or email Jane Kixmiller BY Friday, Sept. 3 If you are attending (janekix59@gmail.com or 317-691-3110).

The People’s Book Club
Book Club will be meeting on Tuesday, September 21st from 6:30 to 8pm at the home of Nina Eads. Hopefully, the weather will allow us to sit on the back porch, so those who are concerned about indoor meetings won't have to be. The book that the group chose at our last meeting is "People We Meet on Vacation" by Emily Henry. The description is short: Two best friends. Ten summer trips. One last chance to fall in love. Sounds like a fun light-hearted read!
We will discuss the book as well as decide what 4 books we will be reading in our every other month get-togethers (November, January, March, and May). If you have any suggestions, please bring them with you.
Anyone is welcome to come! Bring a friend! We will have light snacks and great conversation! We hope to see you on September 21st!
