Sue Dykes 40th Anniversary
Southport Christian Church/Tapestry Church has been blessed with the musical talents and ministry of Sue Dykes. April 2022 marked her 40th anniversary as our church organist & pianist! Please join us at a reception this Sunday, May 15th at 10:10am (between services) to recognize and show our appreciation for Sue.
Called Congregational Meeting
Please let us know if you have any additional questions that were not answered during our two informational sessions. The Board will be voting on the proposal at the May Board Meeting on 5/16, and the congregation will be voting during a Called Congregational Meeting on 5/22. Please see the document below for information on voting eligibility and process.
We will also be bringing forward action on the proposed annualized Budget, pending Board approval on May 16th.
First Tuesday Fellowship
FTF has provided fellowship, lunch, and programs for adult seniors for over 25 years. We have enjoyed our monthly meetings, and the friendships that have been made.
However, times have changed. Our attendance has steadily declined for a variety of reasons. Sharon and Brenda, our awesome chefs, have prepared delicious lunches, but the continued increase in grocery prices has exceeded the funds that they’ve been receiving. Kimberley, our great helper in the kitchen, is no longer able to help.
After much prayer and discussion, the FTF Executive Board decided that the May 3rd FTF meeting was our last.
We are so appreciative of the FTF officers, table decorators, chefs, those who came early to help set up or stayed late to clean up, everyone who has attended, and especially Friedens United Church of Christ. Friedens has graciously hosted our meetings these last few years.
Thank you for the many friendships that have been made. May they continue as we look to the future and to new opportunities for our adult seniors.

2022 Women's Retreat
Attention all Ladies. Do you need time to relax and get away from the day-to-day humdrum? If so, please plan to attend this year’s women’s retreat for some relaxation and to be refreshed in God’s Word.
When: Friday, September 30, to Sunday October 2
Where: Walnut Ridge Retreat Center (half way between Morgantown and Brown County)
Theme: Rooted in God’s Word
Cost: $150.00 (room and food*) *There may be another lunch option on Saturday, but it would require you to pay for your own lunch. A $75.00 deposit is needed right away to secure our stay at Walnut Ridge.

The People's Bookclub

Synopsis: Patrick, or Gay Uncle Patrick (GUP, for short), has always loved his niece, Maisie, and nephew, Grant. That is, he loves spending time with them when they come out to Palm Springs for weeklong visits, or when he heads home to Connecticut for the holidays.
