The Sower
Mark 4:3-20
3 “Listen! A sower went out to sow. 4 And as he sowed, some seed fell on a path, and the birds came and ate it up. 5 Other seed fell on rocky ground, where it did not have much soil, and it sprang up quickly, since it had no depth of soil. 6 And when the sun rose, it was scorched, and since it had no root it withered away. 7 Other seed fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up and choked it, and it yielded no grain. 8 Other seed fell into good soil and brought forth grain, growing up and increasing and yielding thirty and sixty and a hundredfold.” 9 And he said, “If you have ears to hear, then hear!” 10 When he was alone, those who were around him along with the twelve asked him about the parables. 11 And he said to them, “To you has been given the secret of the kingdom of God, but for those outside everything comes in parables, 12 in order that ‘they may indeed look but not perceive, and may indeed hear but not understand; so that they may not turn again and be forgiven.’ ”13 And he said to them, “Do you not understand this parable? Then how will you understand all the parables? 14 The sower sows the word. 15 These are the ones on the path where the word is sown: when they hear, Satan immediately comes and takes away the word that is sown in them. 16 And these are the ones sown on rocky ground: when they hear the word, they immediately receive it with joy. 17 But they have no root and endure only for a while; then, when trouble or persecution arises on account of the word, immediately they fall away. 18 And others are those sown among the thorns: these are the ones who hear the word, 19 but the cares of the age and the lure of wealth and the desire for other things come in and choke the word, and it yields nothing. 20 And these are the ones sown on the good soil: they hear the word and accept it and bear fruit, thirty and sixty and a hundredfold.”

Mid Year Financial Update
As we have reached the middle of July and are a couple of weeks away from moving to our new church home, I want to provide a short financial update to the members and friends of Tapestry Church.
2022 Pledge Campaign Update:
Giving in total by those who made pledges last fall for the year 2022 is tracking very closely to what was projected. Slightly more than half of the dollars pledged have been received by the church through the first week of July. Most pledges are given in regular amounts over the course of the year, i.e. 1/12 of the total pledge given per month. A few pledges have been fully funded while some pledges appear to be primarily given during the second half of the year. If you want to confirm your 2022 pledge, you can go to the giving section of www.gototapestry.com to see your pledge and YTD giving.
Monthly Receipts/Expenses:
- YTD receipts are running ahead of budget by about $7K
- YTD expenses are lower than budget by $6K.
- We do anticipate a rise in expenses as we make the move from our current location to our shared space in the Risen Lord facility and begin to expand our programs and activities. Stewardship and Finance (S&F) will be closely monitoring our finances and keep the board apprised of our financial picture.
While we are only at the mid-point of our current fiscal year, planning for the 2023 fiscal year will soon begin. Over the next couple of months, our Ministry teams will be submitting their requests to S&F for funds to support their programs and projects in 2023. Please keep these team leaders and members in your prayers as they work to develop plans and activities that will help Tapestry make an impact in the lives of its members, friends, and the people of Johnson County and beyond.

Make plans now to join us as we kick off another school year and hold the first worship services at our new location!
The weekend starts with our Family and Friends Night at Mallow Run on Saturday, August 6th, where we'll gather for food, music, and fun (details below).
Then, on Sunday, August 7th, we will have our first worship services at our new location - 3758 W Whiteland Rd!
Woven Worship will be held in the Fellowship Hall at 9:30 AM (running concurrently with Risen Lord Lutheran Church’s service) and Traditional Worship will be held in the Sanctuary at 11:00 AM.
In between services, at 10:30AM, we will have our annual Backpack Blessing for our kiddos’ backpacks and a Blessing for our Educators - in conjunction with Risen Lord and the Montessori School!
We'll also have free coffee and donuts between services!
Invite someone to join you as we celebrate this historic weekend together!
Family & Friends Night at Mallow Run - August 6th!
Join us at Mallow Run Winery (6964 W. Whiteland Rd, Bargersville) for a free summer concert! No reservations are necessary.
Music will be provided by the "Endless Summer Band". There will be a roped-off area where we can sit. Please bring your own lawn chairs and blankets. You may bring your own food and non-alcoholic beverages. Mallow Run products and food trucks will also be available for purchase.
Suggested arrival time is between 4:30-5:00 PM, with music being provided from 6:00-9:00 PM.
Join us for a fun evening of food, fellowship, and music!

2022 Women's Retreat
Attention all Ladies, there are still a few spots open for this year's Women's Retreat.
When: Friday, September 30, to Sunday October 2
Where: Walnut Ridge Retreat Center (half way between Morgantown and Brown County)
Theme: Being plugged in: Illuminating Faith (being plugged into faith, God’s word, and into life with one another.)
