Confession

Matthew 16:13-23

13 Now when Jesus came into the district of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, “Who do people say that the Son of Man is?” 14 And they said, “Some say John the Baptist but others Elijah and still others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.” 15 He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” 16 Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.” 17 And Jesus answered him, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah! For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you but my Father in heaven. 18 And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not prevail against it. 19 I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.” 20 Then he sternly ordered the disciples not to tell anyone that he was the Messiah. 21 From that time on, Jesus began to show his disciples that he must go to Jerusalem and undergo great suffering at the hands of the elders and chief priests and scribes and be killed and on the third day be raised. 22 And Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him, saying, “God forbid it, Lord! This must never happen to you.” 23 But he turned and said to Peter, “Get behind me, Satan! You are a hindrance to me, for you are setting your mind not on divine things but on human things.”

Coffee and Conversation

Coffee and Conversation has begun meeting every Sunday from 10:00 - 10:45 am in room #3. Leaders will continue their rotation schedule on the second Sunday of each month; however, the other Sundays will be led by those in attendance using questions from the faith-based question box. Please join us for some interesting discussions and fellowship with one another.

Want to join Tapestry Ukuleles or Chancel Bells? We invite you to join us Monday nights beginning September 19, 2022 for one or both! Ukelele rehearsals begin at 6 pm and Bells rehearse at 7 pm! The Peoples Book Club

The Peoples Book Club will meet on Tuesday, September 20th from 6:30 - 8 pm. We will meet at Linda Darr's home as well as on Zoom, Click Here for link. The book title for discussion is "The Stranger in the Lifeboat" by Mitch Albom.

The Best Part of Waking Up Continues

We are happy that more people are enjoying the coffee that is provided near the kitchen each Sunday from 9:00-11:00 a.m. We are using the church's coffee cups which are in labeled baskets as "Clean or Dirty".

We have also purchased a few lidded coffee cups IF you were wanting to take your coffee into the sanctuary (as we are asked to only take LIDDED cups into the sanctuary). If there are no clean cups, feel free to look in the kitchen for the labeled cabinets above the sink. We appreciate your returning your used cups to the kitchen area when you are done.

Reach Out With Music

You are invited to a free musical concert on Saturday, September 24th at 7:00 p.m. at the University of Indianapolis Christel DeHaan Fine Arts Center (1400 E Hanna Ave.) Music will be provided by the combined choirs of the University of Indianapolis and Castlewood Singers. Several Tapestry Church members are part of the Castlewood Singers.

Pet Blessing

Risen Lord Lutheran Church invites you to bring your best friend to this year’s pet blessing in honor of St. Francis of Assisi. Sunday, September 25, 2022, at 5:30 pm

Let’s Walk Together to End Hunger!

On Sunday, October 2, 2022, Tapestry and Risen Lord friends will participate in the Harvest Walk 2022. This event is a fundraiser for the InterChurch Food Pantry of Johnson County.

Plan to join us at 12:30 p.m. at Grace United Methodist Church in Franklin (walk location) for a picnic lunch. Bring your lunch, a chair or blanket, and break bread together. The cost to register is $25/individual or $40/family. You may donate even if you don’t participate in the Walk. Click Here to pre-register for the 1-mile or 3-mile walk

Same-day registration is available at 1:00 p.m. on October 2.

The walk begins at 2:00 p.m.

Tapestry will again be providing weekend food bags for students in need at Westwood Elementary School. Last school year we prepared 22 bags each week. If you are able to help, we will be collecting the following:

Granola Bars - NO PEANUT!
Individual Fruit/Juice Drinks
Pudding Cups
