Sabbath

23 One Sabbath he was going through the grain fields, and as they made their way his disciples began to pluck heads of grain. 24 The Pharisees said to him, “Look, why are they doing what is not lawful on the Sabbath?” 25 And he said to them, “Have you never read what David did when he and his companions were hungry and in need of food, 26 how he entered the house of God when Abiathar was high priest and ate the bread of the Presence, which it is not lawful for any but the priests to eat, and he gave some to his companions?” 27 Then he said to them, “The Sabbath was made for humankind and not humankind for the Sabbath, 28 so the Son of Man is lord even of the Sabbath.”

2023 Lenten Devotionals

We are asking you to take part in our daily Lenten devotionals by sharing a photo or song that represents an element of your religious life. Please email your photo or song to office@gototapestry.org. If you are sending a song, send a link to a publicly accessible performance, such as YouTube.

Daily emails will continue through Easter Sunday.

We hope it will make the journey through Lent more meaningful as we explore these building blocks with our church family.

Finding Healing and Hope in the Midst of Grief

Many times we associate grief with losing a loved one, but in reality, we face many other smaller griefs as we go through life that can be challenging for us as well. For example, when we retire, or move from our home, or are diagnosed with an illness, or even when things just don’t turn out like we had hoped, we can experience grief and feelings of loss that can make us feel numb, angry, and discouraged.

One of the gifts God gives us, however, is the ability to begin to find healing and hope as we take time to work through our grief. On Saturday, March 18th, from 10 am-noon, Rickie Long of Crafts and Creations in Greenwood, will lead us in a time of self-discovery and in a process for helping us begin to work through our grief.

This experience of helping us find healing and hope for our grief is being sponsored by our Christian Education Team at Tapestry, and there is no cost for participants. The experience is limited to twenty participants and we would love for you to join us.

M&Ms

M&Ms (Mary & Martha) will meet at 10AM on Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at the church. Lesson Leader is Rhonda Tipton. Refreshments will be provided by Norma Jean Bosworth. Lesson focus this month is the gift of sharing.

Winter Warm Up

You’re invited for another heartwarming lunch as we gather together at Mallow Run Winery on Sunday, March 19th from noon to 6:00 p.m.

We will enjoy luscious loaded baked potato soup and freshly baked breads for $10.00. Music will be provided by Common Ground Acoustic Trio from 2-5 p.m.

Additional drinks and foods including desserts are available for purchase.

ROCK THE BLOCK!

Rock the Block is a 10K (timed), 5K walk/run (family friendly), and a free Kids Run. The date for this year's run is April 22, 2023 at Center Grove High School beginning at 8:35 a.m. Tapestry Church is once again a sponsor!

This event, which began in 2015, is now sponsoring 21 nonprofit organizations that serve youth and families in Johnson County.More than $165,000 have been donated to local charities from this event. Four of these nonprofits are also a part of Tapestry Church's ongoing Outreach programs.

Early registration is available for $25 until midnight April 7th. The cost is $35 until race day. You may register below for this wonderful day of family fun, and exercise.

February Outreach

During March, Outreach will be collecting for Resources of Hope in Whiteland, IN. This agency provides needed items to foster children infant to 18 years old, free of charge to the foster parent or guardian.

They are currently in need of items to cover feet & bottoms!
