Recovering the Kingdom of God
Luke 10:1-11
10 After this the Lord appointed seventy-two others and sent them on ahead of him in pairs to every town and place where he himself intended to go. 2 He said to them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore ask the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest. 3 Go on your way; I am sending you out like lambs into the midst of wolves. 4 Carry no purse, no bag, no sandals, and greet no one on the road. 5 Whatever house you enter, first say, ‘Peace to this house!’ 6 And if a person of peace is there, your peace will rest on that person, but if not, it will return to you. 7 Remain in the same house, eating and drinking whatever they provide, for the laborer deserves to be paid. Do not move about from house to house. 8 Whenever you enter a town and its people welcome you, eat what is set before you; 9 cure the sick who are there, and say to them, ‘The kingdom of God has come near to you.’ 10 But whenever you enter a town and they do not welcome you, go out into its streets and say, 11 ‘Even the dust of your town that clings to our feet, we wipe off in protest against you. Yet know this: the kingdom of God has come near.’

'Courageous Hearts Adoptions' and Wine at the Line
Tapestry Church is again a sponsor at Mallow Run Winery's 5 Mile Run and 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, Sept. 23rd at 2:00 p.m.Your participation in this event provides proceeds to the non-profit organization, 'Courageous Hearts Adoptions'.

The cost for registering now through Friday Sept. 22 is $40 with race day registration of $50. Come enjoy exercising, food, and music on Sept. 23rd!
People's Book Club
The People's Book Club meeting will be held on Tuesday, September 19th at 6:30 p.m. at Gigi Shook's home. We'll be discussing the book, "Lessons in Chemistry" by Bonnie Garmus. Click Here for a synopsis

Worldly Tastings
You’re invited to join Risen Lord and Tapestry Church as we celebrate World Communion Sunday on October 1st. A variety of ethnic pastries and breads will be provided in the Narthex from 10:30-11:00. This will not be in place of communion.

The Women’s Retreat is Coming Soon!

Time: 8 - 3pm
The theme for this year’s one day event will be “Spiritual Well-Being.” Specific topics explored will be Prayer, Meditation, Gratitude, and Nature. A light breakfast and a lunch will be provided for a cost of $20. A wine tasting is available at the winery after the retreat.

Tapestry’s Brunch
New and prospective members enjoyed a delicious brunch and fellowship time last Sunday. People were asked to share why they had begun attending Tapestry, and why they had remained. A common answer was that they felt accepted and loved and cared for. We are so excited that they are connecting with each other.
Thank you to those who prepared the food and to everyone who shared as more threads were woven together in our ‘Tapestry’!

We celebrate and give thanks for the birth of Myra Modi, daughter of Ariana and Savmil Modi, who was born on September 6th.
- We pray for Nina Eads as she has a surgical procedure on September 14th and as she recovers from the procedure.
- We pray for Helen Hicks as she has surgery on her hip.
- We pray for Linda Darr’s nephew, Scott Mocco, as he recovers from a heart attack.
- We pray for Debbie McConnaha and her family upon the unexpected passing of a young member of their family.
