Colossians 1:3-14
3 In our prayers for you we always thank God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, 4 for we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of the love that you have for all the saints, 5 because of the hope laid up for you in heaven. You have heard of this hope before in the word of the truth, the gospel 6 that has come to you. Just as it is bearing fruit and growing in the whole world, so it has been bearing fruit among yourselves from the day you heard it and truly comprehended the grace of God. 7 This you learned from Epaphras, our beloved fellow servant. He is a faithful minister of Christ on our behalf, 8 and he has made known to us your love in the Spirit. 9 For this reason, since the day we heard it, we have not ceased praying for you and asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of God’s will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, 10 so that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him, as you bear fruit in every good work and as you grow in the knowledge of God. 11 May you be made strong with all the strength that comes from his glorious power, so that you may have all endurance and patience, joyfully 12 giving thanks to the Father, who has enabled you to share in the inheritance of the saints in the light. 13 He has rescued us from the power of darkness and transferred us into the kingdom of his beloved Son, 14 in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

3rd Annual Ski Trip - 2024!
We will leave Tapestry for Perfect North at 7 am on January 27th and return around 8 pm that evening. This will allow us to ski from 9:30-5.
$75 per person will cover costs for transportation, lift tickets, rentals, ski school (if necessary), and dinner on the way home. Please bring $20 for lunch and drinks throughout the day.

Navigating Life’s Transitions
The Greek philosopher Heraclitus declared that “the only constant in life is change.” As people of faith, we would add that God’s love for us is also a constant in our lives, but even as Christians, we recognize that adapting to change is a big part of life.
Karri York, our traditional service director of music, is also a college professor of vocal music and an accomplished musician. As a part of her journey, Karri wrote beautiful poems that she titled “Colors of My Heart” about the changes and the different phases of life that we go through. Her poems were put to music and shared vocally by Karri at Anderson University in the fall of 2023.
Karri’s poems come from her heart and from her experiences in life, and she will be sharing her music as well as the backstories of her poems with us on Saturday morning, January 20th from 9:30 to 11:30 in Fellowship Hall, as a way of providing an opportunity for reflection and healing in a session called “Navigating Life’s Transitions.”
All are invited to come and share in this time of healing and reflection about the changes that come in life. There is no cost for the session, and breakfast snacks will be provided as well as childcare.

Winter Youth Retreat
"All youth in grades 6-12 are invited to the Winter Youth Retreat at Bedford Camp & Conference Center February 16-18. The Theme of Drawing the Circle will be presented by Alexis Tardy. Alexis is the Coordinator for Ministry with Youth and Young Adults for Disciples Home Missions.
This will be a great opportunity for Tapestry youth to learn with and get to know Disciple youth from around Indiana. Click below to register. Upon registration click the field to indicate that your church will receive the invoice.
Join The Tapestry Team For The Coldest Night Of The Year Walk!
The Refuge is encouraging Johnson and Marion County residents to bundle up and raise cold hard cash for the The Coldest Night Of the Year (CNOY) Walk. A family-friendly winter fundraising walk for Johnson and Marion County homeless, hungry, and hurting.
By walking together in the chill of the night, participants will better understand the experience of being on the streets during a cold winter, while raising funds to aid the work of The Refuge in providing much-needed support.
The walk will take place on February 24th at 5pm. Beginning and ending at Center Grove Church, 2340 S SR 135 Greenwood. Participants will walk a 2km or 5km route with toasty drinks at rest stops along the way. Check-in begins at 4pm.
Tapestry Church has set up a team and hopes that you will help us reach our goal of raising $600. CLICK HERE to join the Tapestry Team as a walker and or make a donation.

The People’s Book Club
Happy New Year to all book club members and those thinking about joining us. We have had a conflict with our January 16th date. Therefore we will be changing the date of our meeting to Tuesday, January 23rd. That gives you an extra week to finish the book! We will still meet at Lisa Fultz’s home at 6:30. I’m looking forward to some rousing discussion and to see you all in person. So please change your calendar to January 23rd for book club and I’ll see you all then!
