Revelation 22:1-5
Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, bright as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb 2 through the middle of the street of the city. On either side of the river is the tree of life with its twelve kinds of fruit, producing its fruit each month, and the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations. 3 Nothing accursed will be found there any more. But the throne of God and of the Lamb will be in it, and his servants will worship him; 4 they will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads. 5 And there will be no more night; they need no light of lamp or sun, for the Lord God will be their light, and they will reign forever and ever.

The Lord's Prayer Contest
During the Lenten season this year, we will be holding a contest for which you can write and submit your own version of the Lord’s Prayer. Please submit your own unique prayer, rather than one that’s already been written. While the version we use at Tapestry may be one we know and love, we feel that in working together, we can create a version that better suits our world and our church. The prayer chosen as the winner will be adopted for use in Woven services.
The deadline for submissions is Friday, March 8th.
Note: If applicable, there may be more than one winner. In this case, with permission from the winners, we may weave the prayers together. Even if you haven’t written a full version of the Lord’s Prayer, feel free to submit your thoughts (i.e. “What if we say ‘Our Creator’ rather than ‘Our Father’?”).
A Lenten Offering We Can Make Together!
Is not this the fast that I choose: to loose the bonds of injustice, to undo the straps of the yoke, to let the oppressed go free, and to break every yoke? Isaiah 58:6
For years, both Risen Lord and Tapestry congregations have been very active with local food pantries, Midwest Food Bank and Gleaners. During Lent, we take up spiritual disciplines including prayer and giving to those in need. This year, we are providing a unique opportunity to not just give but to advocate on behalf of those experiencing food insecurity. For five Sundays in Lent in Room 3, we are providing space and time to learn more about food insecurity and to participate in an Offering of Letters.
In the United States, less than 1/6 of food assistance comes from the private sector. The remainder (80+%) comes from government programs like SNAP, WIC, school lunches, etc. Bread for the World sponsors an Offering of Letters each year, encouraging elected officials to support legislation to fund these programs.
Three-fourths of the Farm Bill supports food assistance through the SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) and is planned for renewal at the end of March. Letters supporting that legislation are written by individuals, collected, and presented to the officials. Dozens of Indiana congregations are participating in this effort.
We hope you can join us for at least one of the learning and writing sessions in Room 3 to make your voice heard in the effort to end hunger in our country.

During the month of March, Outreach will be collecting for The Refuge food pantry. What are they in need of? When I asked this question, the response was "any nonperishable for our shelves - more is going out than is coming in".
Suggestions, but not limited to:
Canned Fruit
Vegetables
Soup
Meat
Peanut Butter
Pasta of any kind including rice
pasta sauce (NO GLASS PLEASE!)
Cereal

Historically, Easter Sunday has been the ideal time to participate in the sacrament of baptism. Because we remember Christ's victory over death on Easter, people of faith have chosen this date to celebrate their own "newness of life," as Paul says in Romans 6.
Because of this, Lent is traditionally the time to prepare for baptism, and the season of Lent is quickly approaching!
Maybe you never had the opportunity. Maybe you weren't ready. Maybe you never understood why it was important.
Whatever the reason, maybe this year is the right year for you.
If you or your teenage children are considering baptism, we would love to walk with you this lenten season in preparation for an Easter baptism. All interested adults, please contact Pastor Cory for more information. All interested teens/parents, please contact Pastor Ryan.
Soups On at Mallow Run!
We're invited to warm up on Sunday, March 10th at Mallow Run Winery from noon to 6:00 p.m. We can enjoy Loaded Baked Potato soup and FRESHLY BAKED BREAD for only $10!
Additional drinks and foods are available for purchase.
Music will be provided by Shaun Proctor from 2:00-5:00 p.m.

Tapestry played a big part in the first Coldest Night of the Year in Greenwood benefiting The Refuge on Saturday, 2/24/24. With 16 walkers and $2,385 donated, team Tapestry was second among 18 teams - THANK YOU TAPESTRY FOR YOUR CONTINUED HELP TO THE REFUGE! While it truly was NOT the Coldest Night of the Year, thank you to the following who gave their time to walk either the 2k or 5k: Shawna Burch, Steve Campbell & Family, Gary Cavanaugh, Marlene Glover, Emily Hawkins, Diane Johnson, John & Jane Kixmiller, Kristy Nenedjian, Paula Peterson, Barb Riney, Dave & Brenda Rohl (IT WAS BEYOND THE ABILITY OF THE TEAM CAPTAIN TO GATHER ALL 16 IN THE PICTURE!)
A BIG THANK YOU FROM UNCONDITIONAL TO THE DONATING MEMBERS OF TAPESTRY! During the month of February, food was collected for the Unconditional food pantry. Unconditional staff were extremely happy to see the food delivered to their pantry! In addition to donating food, there are numerous ways to volunteer at Unconditional. Tapestry has volunteered to do a quarterly birthday celebration at Unconditional on Wednesday, 6/26/24. If you would be available to help, please contact Brenda Rohl.

Words cannot express the gratitude which Sandy and I have felt because of all the love, prayers and expressions of concern offered over these past months with my cancer diagnosis, surgery, complications and path to recovery. Cory’s visit to the hospital prior to my surgery was deeply meaningful as have been the cards, emails, texts and food. You make a difference by your caring actions. We are so thankful.
