Join us this Sunday as we begin a new series,
Toxic Theology.
Fresh off of our series on the Bible, we are going to be exploring some ideas that you definitely won’t find in it. We all have our personal viewpoints and beliefs. We even have our own views about God (theology). What happens when we allow cultural, political, and non-biblical ideas to creep into our minds? Quite frankly, the results can be disastrous for us, for others, and for the world around us. Join us this month as we seek to explore and eradicate some toxic theologies from our midst.
God is in Control
Romans 8:18-28
18 I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory about to be revealed to us. 19 For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the children of God, 20 for the creation was subjected to futility, not of its own will, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope 21 that the creation itself will be set free from its enslavement to decay and will obtain the freedom of the glory of the children of God. 22 We know that the whole creation has been groaning together as it suffers together the pains of labor, 23 and not only the creation, but we ourselves, who have the first fruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly while we wait for adoption, the redemption of our bodies. 24 For in hope we were saved. Now hope that is seen is not hope, for who hopes for what one already sees? 25 But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience. 26 Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness, for we do not know how to pray as we ought, but that very Spirit intercedes with groanings too deep for words. 27 And God, who searches hearts, knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God. 28 We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, who are called according to his purpose.

$42,300 in grant funds were raised and given to 18 Johnson County charities at this year’s Rock the Block. Thank you to our 12 walkers/runners on a beautiful Saturday morning!

Tuesday Morning Bible Study to study Jesus’ Most Popular Parables
Beginning Tuesday, May 14 through June 11 at 10am, explore Jesus’ parables like the Good Samaritan, the Prodigal Son and others in the fellowship of others. There’s always something new to learn. All are welcome! We hope you can join us.
