God meets us in our fear
Luke 1:26-38
26 In the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent by God to a town in Galilee called Nazareth, 27 to a virgin engaged to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David. The virgin’s name was Mary. 28 And he came to her and said, “Greetings, favored one! The Lord is with you.” 29 But she was much perplexed by his words and pondered what sort of greeting this might be. 30 The angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. 31 And now, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you will name him Jesus. 32 He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High, and the Lord God will give to him the throne of his ancestor David. 33 He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of his kingdom there will be no end.” 34 Mary said to the angel, “How can this be, since I am a virgin?” 35 The angel said to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; therefore the child to be born will be holy; he will be called Son of God. 36 And now, your relative Elizabeth in her old age has also conceived a son, and this is the sixth month for her who was said to be barren. 37 For nothing will be impossible with God.” 38 Then Mary said, “Here am I, the servant of the Lord; let it be with me according to your word.” Then the angel departed from her.

Dear Tapestry Church Family,
Each year at this time we have an opportunity to offer gifts of appreciation to the members of our church staff in the form of Christmas bonuses.
Please offer your gifts over the next few weeks either online or in an envelope for worship marked “Staff Christmas Gifts.” You can also send your gift by mail to the church office prior to December 15th.
Offering these Christmas gifts to staff is a long-standing tradition of ours and I know it means a lot to our staff members. Please join my family in offering these gifts of love and appreciation during this special season.

The music ministries are looking forward to sharing Christmas Eve together for Cookies and Carols at 6pm! There will be a variety of music throughout the hour! Please invite a friend and join the celebration of the “Coming of Christ”

Christmas Cookie Bakers
Once again, Risen Lord and Tapestry will be sharing in fellowship with Christmas cookies and carols between the 5pm and 7pm Christmas Eve worship services. If you enjoy Christmas baking, we will enjoy tasting your Christmas cookie creations! Use the sign-up sheet at church and bring a couple dozen (or more) Christmas cookies for the festivities. Staying Connected
Christmas Party for Risen Lord and Tapestry Children, Youth and Their Families
When? Sunday, December 15th at 10:45-12:15pm
Where? Please gather in the fellowship hall around 10:45 am for a couple of gathering games.
Who? Children, Youth (from preschoolers to high school) and their families from both congregations are welcome.
What? Join us for games, pizza, Christmas cookie-decorating and making new connections.

Christmas Angel Tree
Thank you for your timely responses to our angel tree requests! As of 12/2, there were 6 ornaments remaining. You can see the available items listed here by Clicking Here. The shopping window is quickly closing in! All gifts need to be returned to the church no later than Sunday, 12/15!
Please tape your ornament, or ornament number, to your unwrapped gift and place it under the Angel tree.

Monthly Women’s Breakfast

M&M‘s
M&M‘s (Mary & Martha) will meet at uPaint Pottery Studio, 3113 W. Smith Valley Road, on December 10th. Afterwards we will have lunch at Arni’s, 1691 W. Curry Road, Greenwood 46143. If you would like to join us for painting or lunch, please email Gigi Shook (gshook4381@aol.com).
Tapestry Is Invited
Risen Lord extends a special invitation to our friends from Tapestry to join us for an Advent Holden Evening Prayer Service this coming Sunday, December 8th at 7pm. Holden Evening Prayer is a special liturgy put to beautiful music. We will also be featuring four prayer stations that invite participants to reflect on the themes of hope, love, joy and peace. It's a meaningful experience to share with children, too. After the service, folks are welcome to enjoy a cup of hot chocolate with all the fixings for your drive home. If you're looking for time to slow down and reflect in this season of Advent, this worship service is for you!
