7 But we have this treasure in clay jars, so that it may be made clear that this extraordinary power belongs to God and does not come from us. 8 We are afflicted in every way but not crushed, perplexed but not driven to despair, 9 persecuted but not forsaken, struck down but not destroyed, 10 always carrying around in the body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be made visible in our bodies. 11 For we who are living are always being handed over to death for Jesus’s sake, so that the life of Jesus may also be made visible in our mortal flesh. 12 So death is at work in us but life in you. 13 But just as we have the same spirit of faith that is in accordance with scripture—“I believed, and so I spoke”—we also believe, and therefore we also speak, 14 because we know that the one who raised Jesus will also raise us with Jesus and will present us with you in his presence. 15 Indeed, everything is for your sake, so that grace, when it has extended to more and more people, may increase thanksgiving, to the glory of God.

Quest

Attention Families! (w/ children in pre-K - 5th grade) Join us this Sunday, March 2nd @ 10:45-noon(ish) in fellowship hall.

Rev. Anita Cobb, director of the Quest program, will be joining us again for a fun event celebrating unit 2 of the program. We will discover new ways to teach and learn about the fruits of the spirit, especially the focus of this unit, love. Snacks, drinks, and fun are provided. See you there!

Lenten Book Studies

"The Wood Between the Worlds"

Tuesdays 6:30pm

Join us during Lent as we work through Brian Zahnd’s book, “The Wood Between the Worlds.” Using art, poetry, and literature, we will contemplatively dive into the theology of the cross. Looking at the crucifixion in new and imaginative ways, we will discover how it reveals God through the “mystery of Christ in its multilayered meanings."

Let’s meditate on the meaning of the cross as we prepare to celebrate new life in Christ’s resurrection and what that means for our community and world today.

We will meet in fellowship hall (Woven space) on Tuesdays @ 630 p.m. beginning March 4th. Books are $10. Click Here to register.

Two Film Screenings for "Food, Insecure" at The Common Place

Indiana faces a crisis. Nearly a million Hoosiers, many of them working families with children, struggle to put healthy food on the table. Food, Insecure is a powerful 30-minute documentary that sheds light on this all-too-real issue and its solutions.

Ministries that address food insecurity are important to the congregations at The Common Place--Risen Lord and Tapestry. We hope you can join us for one of the two viewings of the 30-minute documentary with community discussion to follow as we learn more together.

Save the Date - What is the Enneagram?

On April 11 & 12, Cory Glover will be leading a special educational class on the Enneagram. The Enneagram is an ancient tool that helps us answer the questions: who am I and why do I do the things I do?

Literally, “enneagram” means a drawing with nine points; but, more importantly, it illustrates a dynamic model of nine observably different, yet interconnected, character types – each reflecting nine different ways of seeing and being in the world.

Unlike other personality profiles, the Enneagram moves us deeper into reflection, highlighting the ways we can get lost on our spiritual journey and how to find our way back home to our true selves.

This introductory workshop will be split into Friday night and Saturday morning, which will allow us to have time to process the information of Friday night before digging deeper on Saturday morning.

Staying Connected

Chair Yoga Classes Coming Soon!

Would you like to learn more about increasing your flexibility, building strength and learning breathing techniques to assist with stress and anxiety, while also improving lung function. Chair yoga offers a healthy avenue for flexibility and mobility, making it accessible for all ages and abilities.

Starting on Wednesday, March 12, 6 - 7PM. The Chair Yoga class will be led in Fellowship Hall by Barb Thompson, a certified yoga instructor since 2018 and a longtime yoga practitioner.

What you will need: Comfy clothes, perhaps water for hydration, and readiness to move your limbs and enjoy the experience! We will open the chair yoga class with centering, stretching, reflection and a closing fellowship.

March Outreach

Outreach Donations for March are for the Indian Creek Braves Food Pantry. The needed items help students and families in the Trafalgar Community. With the increasing price of food and household products it is difficult for some families/students to afford basic staple items. We are collecting applesauce, canned fruit, fruit cups, laundry detergent, as well as feminine hygiene products.

Meet-n-Eat

Have you been wanting to connect with other church members? Do you love to eat? If the answer is YES then we have a great opportunity for you! Our Meet-n-Eat Groups are designed to help church members get to know one another a little better while sharing a meal. Sign-ups will be for the next three weeks by either completing the online form (CLICK HERE) or signing up on Sunday at the check-in area. Groups will be created based on the information given at sign-up. Groups will be encouraged to meet a minimum of three times over the Spring/Summer months. How and when groups meet will be determined by the Meet-n-Eat group members. We hope you will consider signing up and getting to know the Tapestry family! We will be traveling to Christmount, in Black Mountain, NC, July 6-11, to help rebuild following the disaster of Hurricane Helene last September. This will be an intergenerational trip, not just a trip for youth. Let Ryan know if you are interested or have any questions. Registration will be coming soon as we work with Christmount to solidify the projects we will be working on along with the evening activities and learning experiences.
