19 He entered Jericho and was passing through it. 2 A man was there named Zacchaeus; he was a chief tax collector and was rich. 3 He was trying to see who Jesus was, but on account of the crowd he could not, because he was short in stature. 4 So he ran ahead and climbed a sycamore tree to see him, because he was going to pass that way. 5 When Jesus came to the place, he looked up and said to him, “Zacchaeus, hurry and come down, for I must stay at your house today.” 6 So he hurried down and was happy to welcome him. 7 All who saw it began to grumble and said, “He has gone to be the guest of one who is a sinner.” 8 Zacchaeus stood there and said to the Lord, “Look, half of my possessions, Lord, I will give to the poor, and if I have defrauded anyone of anything, I will pay back four times as much.” 9 Then Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house, because he, too, is a son of Abraham. 10 For the Son of Man came to seek out and to save the lost.”

Lenten Book Studies

"The Wood Between the Worlds"

Tuesdays 6:30pm

Join us during Lent as we work through Brian Zahnd’s book, “The Wood Between the Worlds.” Using art, poetry, and literature, we will contemplatively dive into the theology of the cross. Looking at the crucifixion in new and imaginative ways, we will discover how it reveals God through the “mystery of Christ in its multilayered meanings."

We will meet in fellowship hall (Woven space) on Tuesdays @ 630 p.m.

Discover the abundant, diverse and complementary picture of God's work in the suffering, death and resurrection of Jesus through the lens of each of the four gospels. Books are $10. The study will be held in Rm. 3.

What is the Enneagram?

On April 11 & 12, Cory Glover will be leading a special educational class on the Enneagram. The Enneagram is an ancient tool that helps us answer the questions: who am I and why do I do the things I do?

Literally, “enneagram” means a drawing with nine points; but, more importantly, it illustrates a dynamic model of nine observably different, yet interconnected, character types – each reflecting nine different ways of seeing and being in the world.

Unlike other personality profiles, the Enneagram moves us deeper into reflection, highlighting the ways we can get lost on our spiritual journey and how to find our way back home to our true selves.

This introductory workshop will be split into Friday night (7 - 9pm) and Saturday morning (9:30 -11:30am), which will allow us to have time to process the information of Friday night before digging deeper on Saturday morning.

Friday night will include hors d'oeuvres and cocktails with a light breakfast and coffee on Saturday morning. Registration is encouraged but not required.

Staying Connected

April Outreach

Our Outreach for April is to help Resources of Hope. The current need is summer pajamas for teen girls and boys. The sizes can range from older youth to adult sizes. Consider short sets, night gowns, or sleep shorts with t-shirts.

They are also in need of volunteers twice a month on Saturday mornings, ROH needs childcare helpers during Foster Parent meetings. The time commitment is from 8:45 to 11:15am. Please see Linda Speziale if you are interested.

M&Ms

M&Ms (Mary & Martha) will meet on April 8th at 11AM. The lesson for this month will be on Matthew 15:21-28. The lesson will be led by Barb Moore. Refreshments will be provided by Joanne Underwood. We will also be planning next year’s Bible Study. Please join us!

Rock the Block!

Rock the block is a timed 10K, family friendly 5K walk/run, and also has a free kids run which will be held on Saturday, April 26th at Center Grove High School. Tapestry Church is once again a sponsor. Food, music, vendors, and awards are also included. The 10K begins at 8:35 a.m. with the 5K beginning at 9:00 a.m. The Kids Run begins at 10:00 a.m.

This event has given back $245,000 to Johnson County charities serving children and families since 2015.

Early registration is available ending midnight April 11th. Early registration is $40.00 with registrants receiving a coupon for a free Chick-fil-A chicken sandwich. Kids' Run early registrants receive a $5.00 Rascal's Fun Zone gift card! Registration after April 11th is $45.00 with the day of race cost of $50. You may register below for this wonderful day of family fun and exercise.
