Fear of God

1 John 4:7-21

7 Beloved, let us love one another, because love is from God; everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. 8 Whoever does not love does not know God, for God is love. 9 God’s love was revealed among us in this way: God sent his only Son into the world so that we might live through him. 10 In this is love, not that we loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the atoning sacrifice for our sins. 11 Beloved, since God loved us so much, we also ought to love one another. 12 No one has ever seen God; if we love one another, God abides in us, and his love is perfected in us. 13 By this we know that we abide in him and he in us, because he has given us of his Spirit. 14 And we have seen and do testify that the Father has sent his Son as the Savior of the world. 15 God abides in those who confess that Jesus is the Son of God, and they abide in God. 16 So we have known and believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and those who abide in love abide in God, and God abides in them. 17 Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness on the day of judgment, because as he is, so are we in this world. 18 There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear; for fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not reached perfection in love. 19 We love because he first loved us. 20 Those who say, “I love God,” and hate a brother or sister are liars, for those who do not love a brother or sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen. 21 The commandment we have from him is this: those who love God must love their brothers and sisters also.

Maggie will be graduating from Texas Christian University with Bachelor of Science in Education in Early Childhood Education.

She will be staying at TCU to get a master's in Curriculum and Instruction with a Language and Literacy Emphasis.

Erin Clingerman

Erin Received her Bachelor of Science in Engineering in December and is now working on her Masters of Science in Engineering.

This summer she has an internship with Ford Motor Company.

The Common Place Update

Introducing The Common Place Board

Hello from the board of The Common Place! The board began meeting in March and is made up of an equal number of Managers from Tapestry and Risen Lord. Serving as executive officers are Bill Bass and Dayna Zook, co-chairs, Rick Reisinger, treasurer, and Doug Van Horn, secretary.

The board is working busily on the nuts and bolts of getting The Common Place (TCP) up and running and is making excellent progress in moving vendor billing over to TCP and in setting up bank accounts and an accounting system. Finance and property committees, a facility use policy, and a common calendar are also being established. Additionally, joint signage is being pursued.

Greenwood Pride

Once again, Tapestry is a sponsor of Greenwood Pride 2025 and will operate a booth at the festival! Join us on June 1st from 12 - 6 pm @ Woodman Park to spread the inclusive love of Christ! Public parking at Greenwood HS near the football stadium.

May Outreach

Our Outreach for April is to help Changing Footprints. Changing the World Two Feet at a Time. They supply shoes to over 100 Indiana organizations as well as overseas. Please donate ANY kind of shoe in ANY condition! New shoes are welcome. Monetary donations are also needed. They moved into a larger space this year with a commercial washer to clean some shoes. Food for the Soul / Savor the Sound

Food for the Soul / Savor the Sound is the title and theme for a special admission free concert by Castlewood Singers this coming Sunday. The concert begins at 3 PM in Basile Theater in the Indiana Historical Society building (corner of N West Street and W Ohio Street). There is free parking on the north side of the building. The program will share a variety of music intended to nourish all present. It will include a special emphasis which promotes and honors the work of Midwest Food Bank.

(Several Tapestry members are part of this choral ensemble – John Richardson, Sue Dykes, Carol Smith, Bill Bass, and John and Jane Kixmiller.)

Mission Trip 2025 - Christmount

Join us July 7-12 for a service trip to Christmount in Black Mountain, NC. We will help the folks at Christmount and surrounding areas in the long recovery following Hurricane Helene last fall.

The cost is $250 for a family of four ($50/person over 4) and $100 for individuals. A $50 deposit will hold your spot for the trip. We will have an informational meeting on June 1st @ 10:30 am in the Woven Space. The deadline to register is May 18.
