Diana is a 2011 graduate of CTS. She and her husband, John, have been married for 38 years. They have two grown sons and a beautiful daughter-in-law. She currently serves Tabernacle Christian Church in Franklin, IN and has also served congregations in South Bend, IN, and Dearborn, MI. She loves cooking, reading, textile crafts, hiking, and kayaking.

Her sermon on Sunday is titled Wisdom and Foolishness.

Wisdom and Foolishness

1 Corinthians 1:18-31

18 For the message about the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. 19 For it is written, “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and the discernment of the discerning I will thwart.” 20 Where is the one who is wise? Where is the scholar? Where is the debater of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? 21 For since, in the wisdom of God, the world did not know God through wisdom, God decided, through the foolishness of the proclamation, to save those who believe. 22 For Jews ask for signs and Greeks desire wisdom, 23 but we proclaim Christ crucified, a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to gentiles, 24 but to those who are the called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. 25 For God’s foolishness is wiser than human wisdom, and God’s weakness is stronger than human strength. 26 Consider your own call, brothers and sisters: not many of you were wise by human standards, not many were powerful, not many were of noble birth. 27 But God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong; 28 God chose what is low and despised in the world, things that are not, to abolish things that are, 29 so that no one might boast in the presence of God. 30 In contrast, God is why you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification and redemption, 31 in order that, as it is written, “Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.”

The Common Place Update

Introducing The Common Place Board

Hello from the board of The Common Place! The board began meeting in March and is made up of an equal number of Managers from Tapestry and Risen Lord. Serving as executive officers are Bill Bass and Dayna Zook, co-chairs, Rick Reisinger, treasurer, and Doug Van Horn, secretary.

The board is working busily on the nuts and bolts of getting The Common Place (TCP) up and running and is making excellent progress in moving vendor billing over to TCP and in setting up bank accounts and an accounting system. Finance and property committees, a facility use policy, and a common calendar are also being established. Additionally, joint signage is being pursued.

Greenwood Pride

Once again, Tapestry is a sponsor of Greenwood Pride 2025 and will operate a booth at the festival! Join us on June 1st from 12 - 6 pm @ Woodman Park to spread the inclusive love of Christ! Public parking at Greenwood HS near the football stadium.

May Outreach

Our Outreach for April is to help Changing Footprints. Changing the World Two Feet at a Time. They supply shoes to over 100 Indiana organizations as well as overseas. Please donate ANY kind of shoe in ANY condition! New shoes are welcome. Monetary donations are also needed. They moved into a larger space this year with a commercial washer to clean some shoes. Mission Trip 2025 - Christmount

Join us July 7-12 for a service trip to Christmount in Black Mountain, NC. We will help the folks at Christmount and surrounding areas in the long recovery following Hurricane Helene last fall.

The cost is $250 for a family of four ($50/person over 4) and $100 for individuals. A $50 deposit will hold your spot for the trip. We will have an informational meeting on June 1st @ 10:30 am in the Woven Space. The deadline to register is May 18.
