We welcome our guest preacher for this Sunday, Rev. Dr. Lee Hull Moses.

Rev. Dr. Lee Hull Moses serves as Executive Director of the Proclamation Project of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), an initiative to support and equip Disciples preachers. Previously, she served as Vice President and Chief of Staff in the Office of the General Minister and President, as senior minister of First Christian Church of Greensboro, North Carolina, and as an associate minister in Falls Church, Virginia, in addition to serving short-term interim ministries at congregations in Indiana. Lee has a bachelor’s degree from Albion College, an M.Div. from the Divinity School at the University of Chicago, and a D.Min. from Candler School of Theology at Emory University.

Lee is the author of More Than Enough: Living Abundantly in a Culture of Excess and the co-author of Hopes and Fears: Everyday Theology for New Parents and Other Tired, Anxious People. Her writing has also appeared in the Christian Century Magazine.

A few of the things she loves, in no particular order: her husband Rob, their two kids, the church, long-distance running, the Back to the Future trilogy, and just about any kind of ice cream. She lived in the South long enough to appreciate the word “y’all,” though she’s a Midwesterner at heart. She just wishes Indianapolis was a little closer to the ocean.

and fellowship.

Backpack Blessing!

On Sunday, August 3rd, we will have our annual Back Pack Blessing for our students’ backpacks as well as our educators’ briefcases/back packs. This will be done in both Woven and Traditional worship services. We will also provide donuts and Kona Ice after the Woven service. Please join us as we celebrate our students and educators on August 3rd.

Tuesday Morning Bible Study Resumes in August

We will begin a 5-session series based on the book Cross-Examined: Reading the Bible in Times of Division. We meet in Rm #3 at 10am. The study will cover the following topics:

8/5 Weaponizing the Bible

8/12 Gender Equality

8/19 LGBTQ Inclusion

8/25 White Christian Nationalism

9/2 Racism

Books are $10 and sign up for the study is at the Welcome Centers.

Your donations are greatly appreciated! We drop the donations off on Monday and the clients stop by to shop on Wednesday. They can literally go out the same week! The staff is always SO eager to receive the help. Much love to you all.

Tapestry Personnel Committee

Greetings from the Tapestry Personnel Committee! We want to let you in on a little project to lift up our dedicated Staff members here at Tapestry and let them know how much they are seen and appreciated in so many ways. Over the summer months look for the display outside of the worship areas.

During weeks throughout the summer, we will be highlighting all of our valued Staff members in "clusters" (look for their photos!) to be up and displayed for a few weeks at a time to give you a chance to add to the display-a Summer Salute to Staff, if you will! We are asking for everyone's input by writing thoughtful descriptive words, adjectives, stories, phrases or notes that help describe that staff member in provided "thought bubbles" to be displayed on a dedicated board of Staff Members. All of the word balloons and clouds from each group will then be compiled at the end of summer to create a Word Cloud of all of the accumulated descriptive words that will represent what our Church Staff means to us as a whole.

Please join in this creative process to show our staff just how much we care about and appreciate them and their work in a myriad of ways for not only our congregation, but also for the wider community and our world.
