David and Saul

1 Samuel 24:16-22

16 When David had finished speaking these words to Saul, Saul said, “Is this your voice, my son David?” Saul lifted up his voice and wept. 17 He said to David, “You are more righteous than I, for you have repaid me good, whereas I have repaid you evil. 18 Today you have explained how you have dealt well with me, in that you did not kill me when the Lord put me into your hands. 19 For who has ever found an enemy and sent the enemy safely away? So may the Lord reward you with good for what you have done to me this day. 20 Now I know that you shall surely be king and that the kingdom of Israel shall be established in your hand. 21 Swear to me, therefore, by the Lord that you will not cut off my descendants after me and that you will not wipe out my name from my father’s house.” 22 So David swore this to Saul. Then Saul went home, but David and his men went up to the stronghold.

Lent Book Study

Join us Tuesdays, beginning February 17th @ 6:30pm for our Lent book study, An Unlikely Lent, by Rachel Billups. We will navigate Lent through six unlikely heroes like Barabbas, Mary of Bethany, and Simon of Cyrene. By lifting up marginalized voices, Billips will invite us into an old journey in a fresh way.

Since February 17th is Fat Tuesday, we will have New Orleans style refreshments! Arrive at 6:15pm for a Mardi Gras celebration during our first meeting.

Justice Taskforce Call-Out

Our mission is to embody the values of love, justice, and mercy that lie at the heart of our faith, and to take actionable steps towards creating a more just society for all. We invite anyone interested in discussing strategies, organizing events, or engaging in outreach to join us in this vital ministry.

Whether you're experienced in advocacy work or simply looking to learn more and get involved, there's a place for you within this task force. Together, we will further Tapestry’s inclusivity and love of Christ, uplifting the voices of the marginalized, while fostering a spirit of transformation.

Join us on March 1st @ noon in the Woven space to discuss the potential of a Justice Taskforce. Lunch, snacks, and drinks will be provided. If interested, please reach out to Ryan to RSVP (ryan@gototapestry.org | 317-501-3866).

New Handicap Ramps Installed

The Common Place is pleased to announce that ADA compliant handicap ramps have been installed this week on the south and west sides of the building. The new ramps have been cut into the sidewalks enhancing accessibility and safety, and the previous ramps on the south side have been removed. This upgrade will remain a work in progress with restriping of the parking spaces and repairs to the surface where the ramps were removed taking place later when the weather is warmer and hopefully when other parking lot repairs are being addressed.

Until the spaces and ramp access points are more obviously marked, please check to make sure that you have not parked in front of the access points to the ramps. Also, please use caution on the rough surface where the previous ramps were.
