John 8:12-20
Light of the World

12 Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness but will have the light of life.” 13 Then the Pharisees said to him, “You are testifying on your own behalf; your testimony is not valid.” 14 Jesus answered, “Even if I testify on my own behalf, my testimony is valid because I know where I have come from and where I am going, but you do not know where I come from or where I am going. 15 You judge by human standards; I judge no one. 16 Yet even if I do judge, my judgment is valid, for it is not I alone who judge but I and the Father who sent me. 17 In your law it is written that the testimony of two witnesses is valid. 18 I testify on my own behalf, and the Father who sent me testifies on my behalf.” 19 Then they said to him, “Where is your Father?” Jesus answered, “You know neither me nor my Father. If you knew me, you would know my Father also.” 20 He spoke these words while he was teaching in the treasury of the temple, but no one arrested him, because his hour had not yet come.

Staying Connected

March Outreach

Our outreach for March will be shared between two organizations.

Indiana Youth Group (IYG) is an organization that has created spaces for LGBTQ+ young people since 1987. It promotes a space of acceptance, equity and restorative practices. Their pantry shelves are nearly empty. Please bring shelf-stable, non-perishable foods of all kinds!

Changing Footprints collects shoes of all sorts to be cleaned up and distributed to people in need, all over the world! Shoes of all sizes, types (even sport shoes) and conditions can be dropped off in the gray containers by the entry doors. New shoes will be greatly appreciated!

M&M’s

M&M’s (Mary & Martha) women’s group will meet on Tuesday, March 10th, at 11AM. Before our Bible Study, we will be discussing next year’s Bible Study and a possible service project with the Johnson County Public Library. Our Bible study continues with a lesson on David from the book “Messy People of the Bible“. Lesson Leader is Gigi Shook and refreshments will be provided by Bea Baron. Please join us.

Lent Book Study

Join us Tuesdays, beginning February 17th @ 6:30pm for our Lent book study, An Unlikely Lent, by Rachel Billups. We will navigate Lent through six unlikely heroes like Barabbas, Mary of Bethany, and Simon of Cyrene. By lifting up marginalized voices, Billips will invite us into an old journey in a fresh way.
