Join us for Easter Sunday as we begin the series Toxic Theology 2.0
Following the success of the first installment in 2024, we are back for another short journey through some of the most prominent "toxic" theologies plaguing the church today. A "toxic theology" is when we allow cultural, political, and non-biblical ideas to creep into our belief systems, resulting in actions that are harmful for ourselves, for others, and for the world around us. Join us for the rest of April as we seek to explore and eradicate some toxic theologies from our midst.

Acts 22:25-29
25 As they were stretching him out and tying him down with straps, Paul said to the centurion standing there, “Can you legally whip a Roman citizen who hasn’t been found guilty in court?” 26 When the centurion heard this, he went to the commander and reported it. He asked, “What are you about to do? This man is a Roman citizen!” 27 The commander went to Paul and demanded, “Tell me! Are you a Roman citizen?” He said, “Yes.” 28 The commander replied, “It cost me a lot of money to buy my citizenship.” Paul said, “I’m a citizen by birth.” 29 At once those who were about to examine him stepped away. The commander was alarmed when he realized he had bound a Roman citizen.

Due to a scheduling conflict, the Practicing the Way course led by Pastor Cory will be postponed until the fall.
The Common Place Spring Cleanup Day
Spring has sprung! To keep the grounds looking beautiful, please join your friends from The Common Place on Saturday, April 11th starting at 9:00 am to prune plants, bushes, and trees and weed the beds. Doughnuts and coffee will be provided. Although we have some gardening tools, additional wheelbarrows and trimmers of all kinds would be helpful.Please see Dayna Zook at church or contact her at (317) 459-3104 if you can help or have questions.

Lawn Crew Volunteers Wanted
The Common Place’s lawn brigade is looking for volunteers to mow and/or trim the back forty of the property. For new recruits, Kubota mower training is available. M&Ms
M&Ms (Mary &Martha) women’s group will meet at 11AM on April 14, 2026. Attendees are asked to bring travel size Shampoos, tooth brushes and tooth paste for the Johnson County Public Library. Lesson this month is on Daniel and will be led by Linda Darr. Refreshments will be provided by Barb Moore. All women of the church are welcome to join us.
April Outreach
During the month of April Outreach will be collecting donations for Interfaith Food Pantry of Johnson County (jcpantry.org). They continue to serve neighbors for over 40 years! Any food, personal items or cleaning items are always appreciated.
We will have an opportunity to volunteer at the Pantry on Thursday, 4/16 from about 10:30 - 2:30. If you are interested, please let Paula Peterson or Linda Speziale know.
Let's "Rock the Block"!
Rock the Block is a timed 10K, family friendly 5K walk/run, and also has a free kids run which will be held on Saturday, April 25th at Center Grove High School. Tapestry Church is once again a sponsor. Food, music, vendors, and awards will be included. The 10K begins at 8:35 a.m. with the 5K beginning at 9:00 a.m. The Kids Run begins at 10:00 a.m.
The proceeds benefit organizations serving youth and families of Johnson County.
Early registration is available ending midnight April 10th. Early registration is $40.00 + $3.40 SignUp fee with registrants receiving a coupon for a free Chick-fil-A chicken sandwich. Kids' Run early registrants receive a $5.00 Rascal's Fun Zone gift card! Registration after April 10 is $45.00 + $3.40 SignUp Free. The day of the race cost is $50.00 + $3.40 SignUp fee.

Join Pastor Wendy for a special two‑hour session that goes beyond our usual study time. Together we’ll explore *Practicing Our Faith* (Bass, Dykstra) and discover how everyday habits—hospitality, generosity, scripture reading, and more—shape who we are as a community. This class is being offered and led by the Center for Congregations. We'll be part of a larger learning community during this time.
