Substitutionary Atonement
2 Corinthians 5:14–21
14 For the love of Christ urges us on, because we are convinced that one has died for all; therefore all have died. 15 And he died for all, so that those who live might live no longer for themselves but for the one who for their sake died and was raised. 16 From now on, therefore, we regard no one from a human point of view; even though we once knew Christ from a human point of view, we no longer know him in that way. 17 So if anyone is in Christ, there is a new creation: everything old has passed away; look, new things have come into being! 18 All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and has given us the ministry of reconciliation; 19 that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting the message of reconciliation to us. 20 So we are ambassadors for Christ, since God is making his appeal through us; we entreat you on behalf of Christ: be reconciled to God. 21 For our sake God made the one who knew no sin to be sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

Traditional Service Changes
As we mentioned in worship this past Sunday, for the next several weeks, we are testing out some changes to our Traditional Worship service. These small tweaks are intended to bring more dynamics to this service and to help it form a more unique identity.
At the end of this trial period, we will elicit your feedback and have a discussion following the service to determine whether to make the changes permanent.

A big shout out and thank you to The Common Place’s good humored and dedicated gardening angels -- Chad, Milissa, Debbie, Danny, John, Paula, Dayna, Scott, Pastor Wendy, Bea, Bill, Dave, Brenda, Paul, Penny, Karen, Jane, and Sue. Their time and hard work in beautifying the grounds of TCP this past Saturday are much appreciated. The spring refresh looks great!
Justice Sunday
Join us on May 3rd for Justice Sunday - presented by the Justice Taskforce!
We welcome the director for Justice and Advocacy Ministries from Disciples Home Missions, Rev. Brian Frederick-Gray. In between services, we will set up a simple activity of justice advocacy - using our voices to stand for the marginalized by writing letters on justice matters that affect the vulnerable among us. Letter templates and postage will be provided.

At noon, Brian will lead us in a discussion to help us direct our advocacy efforts and where to find denominational resources. Light refreshments will be provided.
Lawn Crew Volunteers Wanted
The Common Place’s lawn brigade is looking for volunteers to mow and/or trim the back forty of the property. For new recruits, Kubota mower training is available. April Outreach
During the month of April Outreach will be collecting donations for Interfaith Food Pantry of Johnson County (jcpantry.org). They continue to serve neighbors for over 40 years! Any food, personal items or cleaning items are always appreciated.
Let's "Rock the Block"!
Rock the Block is a timed 10K, family friendly 5K walk/run, and also has a free kids run which will be held on Saturday, April 25th at Center Grove High School. Tapestry Church is once again a sponsor. Food, music, vendors, and awards will be included. The 10K begins at 8:35 a.m. with the 5K beginning at 9:00 a.m. The Kids Run begins at 10:00 a.m.
