Join us this Sunday as we begin a new series on the Minor Prophets called Uncomfortable Truths.
The minor prophets are likely the most neglected section of the Bible – too uncomfortable for many modern-day Christians, too politically charged for those who prefer their faith safely ‘spiritual’, and too specific in their targets to be easily domesticated into inspirational content.
They name names. They identify systems. They speak truth to power at personal cost and without apology. And in an era of rampant misinformation, political cowardice, institutional silence, and the Church’s long history of baptizing what it should be challenging, the prophetic tradition has never been more relevant or more needed. God used these people because they were willing to say what nobody wanted to hear.
How might we be inspired by them to do the same in our own time and place?

21 I hate, I despise your festivals, and I take no delight in your solemn assemblies. 22 Even though you offer me your burnt offerings and grain offerings, I will not accept them, and the offerings of well-being of your fatted animals I will not look upon. 23 Take away from me the noise of your songs; I will not listen to the melody of your harps. 24 But let justice roll down like water and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream.

We Call Ourselves Disciples
Join us for 6-weeks as we discover how Tapestry fits into the distinctive identity and shared values of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), using the book “We Call Ourselves Disciples.” This insightful book features twelve chapters, each penned by respected Disciples pastors and scholars, offering diverse perspectives on the core tenets and lived experiences of the denomination. It's more than a summary, it is an invitation to enter into an ongoing conversation about faith, guiding you through the beautiful complexity of Disciples life.
Whether a new visitor, member, or a lifetime Disciple, you will get something out of these sessions. Join us Sundays beginning on September 13th at 10:30am in room #3 for six weeks. On October 25th, we will offer our WEAVE class for new attendees, visitors, and new members during this same time slot.

Habitat for Humanity Fall Build
On September 12th, Tapestry Church will be participating in the 2026 Johnson County Habitat for Humanity Fall Build in Franklin, IN. We are looking for 8-10 individuals to participate in the build. Tentative activities on the 12th are installation of soffits and corner boards (subject to change).

If possible, please register by Aug. 9th so that T-shirts can be ordered. The minimum age to participate is 18 years. Tapestry will be serving a light breakfast and offering a short devotional on the 12th at the build site.

The People’s Book Club (as in ALL ARE WELCOME TO JOIN) will be meeting next on 9/15/26 at 6:30 PM, at the church.

Mallow Run Winery Wine at the Line
The 16th annual Wine at the Line Walk/Run is happening on Saturday, Sept. 26th. As in the past, Tapestry Church is a sponsor and has a booth. The proceeds of this event benefit Cystic Fibrosis.
As a sponsor, we are allowed some free registrations. Reach out to a staff member for a free registration code.
On race day, we would love for all Tapestry participants to meet
at the Tapestry Booth at 1:45PM for a group photo.
