Sunday, November 8th -
Ruth, Ruth 3:6-9
6 So she went down to the threshing floor and did just as her mother-in-law had instructed her. 7 When Boaz had eaten and drunk, and he was in a contented mood, he went to lie down at the end of the heap of grain. Then she came stealthily and uncovered his feet, and lay down. 8 At midnight the man was startled, and turned over, and there, lying at his feet, was a woman! 9 He said, “Who are you?” And she answered, “I am Ruth, your servant; spread your cloak over your servant, for you are next-of-kin.”
Sunday, November 22nd, from 2-4 pm
This will be a come-and-go experience that will allow you to see the new space and offer prayer for our future within it. Registration will be required. Time is allotted in 15-minute increments and only 10 people may register for each increment.

On November 29 (The first Sunday of Advent), we will plan to formally welcome those who feel comfortable coming back to in-person worship in addition to the live-stream broadcast.
Preregistration will be required and there will be a limited of 25 spots in each service (not counting staff).
There will be no congregational singing, but we will have one or two masked singers to lead us in song, as well as several more established protocols.
Temperature checks upon entry
In addition to live and in-person, you will also be able to join from the parking lot by listening via FM transmitter.
Also, on November 29th, Tapestry groups will be able to expand from 10 to 25 people following the same protocols.

Open & Affirming Process
In the past few weeks, we have provided several opportunities to join in the conversation around
Tapestry Church officially becoming an Open & Affirming congregation.
This designation means that we would publicly identify ourselves as an inclusive church that welcomes persons of all gender expressions and sexual identities into the full life and leadership of the church.
We hope that you were able to join us for one or more of these sessions. If you could not, please reach out to any of our Elders.
What does it mean to welcome all? What does it mean to be Open & Affirming?
persons of all gender expressions and sexual orientations, we commit to including persons regardless of their gender expression or sexual orientation, welcoming all as Christ welcomes us. We do not use these attributes as a barrier to communion, membership, service, leadership, or employment in our ministry, nor as a barrier among those served.
A ministry is
when it commits to communicating its welcome publicly. This may come in many forms, and most ministries do this in several ways: communicating their O&A status to Regional and General Church leadership, placing signage on their church building, publishing their O&A statement on their website, in their Sunday bulletin and in their newsletter, and wherever possible naming itself ‘an Open & Affirming Congregation of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).
A ministry is
when it commits to preaching and teaching a gospel which understands that God does not reject or condemn people solely for their gender expression or sexual orientation (nor any of the other attributes listed in their Open & Affirming statement).
Does every member of our congregation or ministry have to be
Open & Affirming?
No. We are Disciples, after all, and we don’t expect every member of our congregations to agree about much of anything! Open & Affirming is an attribute of the congregation or ministry as a whole: what it teaches and preaches, how its members treat one another, how its members welcome newcomers, whom it serves, and what policies it adheres to when hiring, evaluating, and compensating staff.

New Alarm System
We have installed a SimpliSafe alarm system at the church. The keypad is just above the light switches. Please contact the church office at (317) 784-4431 or
to get the code and simple instructions on how to arm and disarm.
M&M’s (Mary &Martha) will meet on November 10th at 9:30 at the church/office. All women of the church are invited for fellowship, Bible study and service.
Outreach - Holidays
Tapestry Church will be collecting Thanksgiving food for the Food Pantry at the Social of Greenwood and Christmas gifts for families identified by The Refuge. The Congregation will be invited to help with donations. STAY TUNED!
First Tuesday Fellowship
What fun we had on a gorgeous fall day as several of us enjoyed food, fellowship, and Bingo at Northwest Park Annex on Oct. 5th! We were able to gather together as we were outside, masked, and socially distant, Sadly, meeting outdoors is not an option, and our indoor meeting spaces are not yet allowing in-person gatherings. FTF will not be meeting in November and December. We continue to pray for our first responders, church, government leaders, and family/friends during these challenging times. We all look forward to when we will once again be able to meet in person and resume First Tuesday Fellowship. May each of you stay safe and well and have a blessed Thanksgiving and Christmas. God Bless, Jane Kixmiller.

“Space is Limited” (RSVP to Dawn 317-507-0003)
Join us for an advent zoom Bible study! Families can join as well as adults. Let's learn about the meaning behind the different names of Christ and the difference He makes in our lives this Christmas. "Incarnation: Rediscovering the Significance of Christmas" is a 4-week study that we will start on Thursday, November 19th at 7 pm. We will not meet on Thanksgiving Thursday (11/26) but pick up again on 12/3, 12/10, and 12/17. The book is available at Cokesbury for $12 or a Kindle version for $10. Rev. John Kixmiller and Paula Peterson will co-lead this study.
Westwood Weekend Bags
Weekend Bags is a program where we will assemble weekend bags of food for those children that may not have the nourishment they need over the weekend! There are currently 15-20 students that are in need of this program at Westwood Elementary School. No child should be left hungry. School starts August 6th and our program will start the week after. We are asking for non-perishable, easy to prepare food for the children to ensure they receive enough food on the weekends to avoid hunger when they can't depend on a school meal. Two entrees (pasta bowls, chef boyardee, ind. cereal, two snacks, one juice box, applesauce, pudding cup, raisins, granola bars, crackers) are just a few ideas!!! Please contact Dawn Arnold (317-507-0003) to arrange pick-up/drop-off.
Dear Tapestry Family,
I want to thank you for your contribution to making my ordination day such a special occasion. Your sponsorship means a great deal to me, as does the support and encouragement I have received from my Tapestry friends. Thank you to John Kixmiller for leading a very personal and meaningful service; to Paula Peterson and Cory Glover for their participation in the service; to Jane Kixmiller, Paula Peterson, and Jake Roberts for the lovely outdoor reception; and to all the Tapestry folks who attended, in person or virtually, and who blessed the day with their prayers. Thank you also for the beautiful white clergy robe - I know I will wear your blessing each time I put it on. You have clothed me to share Christ with others, as you have shared Christ with me.
With much love and appreciation,
Rev. Kyrmen Rea
