Sunday, November 29th - Scripture
Wonderful Counselor, Isaiah 9:2-7
2 The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light; those who lived in a land of deep darkness on them light has shined. 3 You have multiplied the nation, you have increased its joy; they rejoice before you as with joy at the harvest, as people exult when dividing plunder. 4 For the yoke of their burden, and the bar across their shoulders, the rod of their oppressor, you have broken as on the day of Midian. 5 For all the boots of the tramping warriors and all the garments rolled in blood shall be burned as fuel for the fire. 6 For a child has been born for us, a son given to us; authority rests upon his shoulders; and he is named Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. 7 His authority shall grow continually, and there shall be endless peace for the throne of David and his kingdom. He will establish and uphold it with justice and with righteousness from this time onward and forevermore. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will do this.
This Sunday, November, 29th we will return to offering in-person worship. We will also be offering our new drive-up option. If possible,
we encourage everyone to stay home and worship with us online.
This is the safest option, the only one without risk. This is even more important for those who are high risk - people over 60, people with heart, kidney, or lung disease, and those with chronic respiratory conditions.
For those wanting the drive-up option please join us in the parking lot and
listen via FM transmitter.
You can choose a parking spot close enough to see through the windows and tune your radio to 87.9. This will allow you to see and hear the worship service. We encourage you to bring your own communion elements and remain
in your vehicle. We will also have a greeter available outside to assist if you have any questions or issues.
For those who will be joining us for in-person worship, please be aware of the following:
-Preregistration will be required and attendance will be limited to 20 people in each service (not counting staff). This is a reduction from 25.
-Please leave the parking spaces closest to the church for those remaining in their cars.
-We will record all attendees in a log so that we may do contact tracing should a spreading event occur.
-Upon entry, you will have your temperature checked.
-Masks and social distancing will be required.
-There will be no congregational singing, but we will have one or two masked singers to lead us in song.
-Prepackaged communion will be available. No offering plates will be passed, but we have an offering box into which you may place your tithes and offerings.
-We will be dismissed in stages, and we ask everyone to avoid any clustering inside the building.
We cannot fully mitigate the risks of transmission, but we are working to be as safe as possible.
gain, the safest options are to join us online or in our parking lot.
Please do not come to the church if you have experienced any sickness or symptoms - or have been around anyone who has - in the last 14 days.
ReEntry will continue to monitor cases and will meet routinely to reevaluate. Thank you for your support and patience.
*On November 29th, Tapestry groups will be able to expand from 10 to 20 people following the same protocols.

Open & Affirming Process
On Monday, November 16, 2020, the Board of Tapestry Church unanimously approved the proposal from the Elders and voted for Tapestry to officially become an Open & Affirming congregation. This designation means that we would publicly identify ourselves as an inclusive church that welcomes persons of all gender expressions and sexual identities into the full life and leadership of the church.
The next step is congregational approval.
We will call for this vote in a Special Called Congregational Meeting on
Sunday, December 6th, at 2:00 pm
. You can join the meeting via Zoom, in the parking lot via FM transmitter, or in-person (limited to 25 people, registration required). After discussion, the vote will open at the conclusion of the meeting and remain open until
5:00 pm on Saturday, December 12th.
Everyone will be sent a link to record their vote digitally, although a paper ballot may be requested. To ensure safety in the voting process, Church Staff will be able to view voting responses, although these will not be shared publicly.
In our regularly scheduled Annual Congregational Meeting, on Sunday, December 13th, at 2:00 pm, we will announce the results of the vote. A 2/3s majority will be required for approval. We will also be voting on the 2021 Leadership Roster and the 2021 Budget. You can also join this meeting via Zoom, in the parking lot via FM transmitter, or in-person (limited to 25 people, registration required).
We are grateful to our Elders for their vision and leadership throughout this process. Please make plans to join us for this historic moment!

Westwood Weekend Bags
Weekend Bags is a program where we will assemble weekend bags of food for those children that may not have the nourishment they need over the weekend! There are currently 15-20 students that are in need of this program at Westwood Elementary School. No child should be left hungry. School starts August 6th and our program will start the week after. We are asking for non-perishable, easy to prepare food for the children to ensure they receive enough food on the weekends to avoid hunger when they can't depend on a school meal. Two entrees (pasta bowls, chef boyardee, and. cereal, two snacks, one juice box, applesauce, pudding cup, raisins, granola bars, crackers) are just a few ideas!!! Please contact Dawn Arnold (317-507-0003) to arrange pick-up/drop-off.
Tapestry Giving to the Refuge Playground Update
A congregational member has volunteered to match each dollar of giving to this project up to $1,000. As of Monday, 11/23/2020, giving from the congregation is $330! If you are able, please consider donating to this cause. If you have questions, contact Brenda Rohl.
Dear Tapestry Church Family,
Each year at this time we have an opportunity to offer gifts of appreciation to the members of our church staff in the form of a Christmas bonus. There is no money budgeted for this. These gifts depend solely upon our member contributions. The total contributed will be divided equally among all the members of our staff.
Please offer your gifts by mail to the church office in an envelope marked “Staff Christmas” to the office at 1001 N. State Road 135, Suite A1, Greenwood, IN 46142. Please be sure to place "Staff Christmas" on the memo line, if paying by check. You may also pay online at the following link:
Gifts need to be collected by December 19th in order to give to our staff by Christmas.
Offering these Christmas gifts to staff is a long-standing tradition of ours and I know it means a lot to our staff members. Please join my family in offering these gifts of love and appreciation during this special season.
Thank you so much for your generosity!
