Sunday, December 6th - Scripture
Prince of Peace, Jeremiah 29:4-7
4 Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, to all the exiles whom I have sent into exile from Jerusalem to Babylon: 5 Build houses and live in them; plant gardens and eat what they produce. 6 Take wives and have sons and daughters; take wives for your sons, and give your daughters in marriage, that they may bear sons and daughters; multiply there, and do not decrease. 7 But seek the welfare of the city where I have sent you into exile, and pray to the Lord on its behalf, for in its welfare you will find your welfare.
We have returned to offering in-person worship, as well as our new drive-up option. If possible,
we encourage everyone to stay home and worship with us online.
This is the safest option, the only one without risk. This is even more important for those who are high risk - people over 60, people with heart, kidney, or lung disease, and those with chronic respiratory conditions.
For those wanting the drive-up option please join us in the parking lot and
listen via FM transmitter.
You can choose a parking spot close enough to see through the windows and tune your radio to 87.9. This will allow you to see and hear the worship service. We encourage you to bring your own communion elements and remain
in your vehicle. We will also have a greeter available outside to assist if you have any questions or issues.
For those who will be joining us for in-person worship, please be aware of the following:
-Preregistration will be required and attendance will be limited to 20 people in each service (not counting staff). This is a reduction from 25.
-Please leave the parking spaces closest to the church for those remaining in their cars.
-We will record all attendees in a log so that we may do contact tracing should a spreading event occur.
-Upon entry, you will have your temperature checked.
-Masks and social distancing will be required.
-There will be no congregational singing, but we will have one or two masked singers to lead us in song.
-Prepackaged communion will be available. No offering plates will be passed, but we have an offering box into which you may place your tithes and offerings.
-We will be dismissed in stages, and we ask everyone to avoid any clustering inside the building.
We cannot fully mitigate the risks of transmission, but we are working to be as safe as possible.
gain, the safest options are to join us online or in our parking lot.
Please do not come to the church if you have experienced any sickness or symptoms - or have been around anyone who has - in the last 14 days.
ReEntry will continue to monitor cases and will meet routinely to reevaluate. Thank you for your support and patience.
*On November 29th, Tapestry groups will be able to expand from 10 to 20 people following the same protocols.

Open & Affirming Process
On Monday, November 16, 2020, the Board of Tapestry Church unanimously approved the proposal from the Elders and voted for Tapestry to officially become an Open & Affirming congregation. This designation means that we would publicly identify ourselves as an inclusive church that welcomes persons of all gender expressions and sexual identities into the full life and leadership of the church.
The next step is congregational approval.
We will call for this vote in a Special Called Congregational Meeting on
Sunday, December 6th, at 2:00 pm
. You can join the meeting via Zoom, in the parking lot via FM transmitter, or in-person (limited to 20 people, registration required). After discussion, the vote will open at the conclusion of the meeting and remain open until
5:00 pm on Saturday, December 12th.
Everyone will be sent a link to record their vote digitally, although a paper ballot may be requested. To ensure safety in the voting process, Church Staff will be able to view voting responses, although these will not be shared publicly.
In our regularly scheduled Annual Congregational Meeting, on Sunday, December 13th, at 2:00 pm, we will announce the results of the vote. A 2/3s majority will be required for approval. We will also be voting on the 2021 Leadership Roster and the 2021 Budget. You can also join this meeting via Zoom, in the parking lot via FM transmitter, or in-person (limited to 20 people, registration required).
We are grateful to our Elders for their vision and leadership throughout this process. Please make plans to join us for this historic moment!

Tapestry at Work Donating - Again!
Thank You Tapestry! Even though we are working our way through pandemic times, AND you were not given as much notification as in past years, your giving for Thanksgiving Food donations was astounding! An SUV and the back seat of another vehicle was filled and donated to the IMPACT Food Pantry. Your help is making a difference in feeding Johnson County!
A congregational member has volunteered to match each dollar of giving to this project up to $1,000. As of Tuesday, 12/1 giving from the congregation is $380! If you are able, please consider donating to this cause. If you have questions, contact
